Q: WHAT ARE SOME TACTICS YOU HAVE USED TO TAME YOUR EMAIL INBOX IN ORDER TO NOT BE OVERWHELMED?
A: The first step is to get a handle on where the overwhelm is coming from. Are you on a spam list? Did you subscribe to unnecessary newsletters? Are you simply wildly popular? Basically, where is the “overwhelming” amount of email coming from?
If you are getting spam, check with your email provider to see if they have anti-spam utilities you can enable. If not, find one that does (I’m fond of Google G-Suite).
If you are receiving email from subscriptions you signed up for, unsubscribe - or at least set up a rule/filter to put them in another mailbox that you may or may not get to at your leisure.
Are you wildly popular? Share your marketing secret with the rest of us, and hire someone to manage your email.
For my own solution… I receive from 2,000–4,000 emails daily. The only email that makes it to my inbox is from senders who are already in my addressbook. All the rest is either filtered out as spam, and if not spam, is filtered to a mailbox that I may (or probably never) get to.
